In 2014 we launched the Kavos Nightlife iTunes Podcast, the reasoning behind it was that there was nothing worse than getting back from a great holiday and thinking, “damnnnn Daniel…. I wish I brought a CD from Buzz Bar” or “I wish I got that DJs name from Snobs Bar”. Our aim was at the end of the season to post up DJ mixes from across the resort.
As time has progressed and subscriber numbers have increased to an amazing 11,000+ people the demand for new music throughout the winter has increased which has lead to Kavos Nightlife releasing monthly mixes. iTunes was our preferred platform over the likes of MixCloud and Soundcloud due to its global reach and professional music distribution service.
In April we returned with a new mix featuring many artists appearing in Kavos this summer including the likes of Low Steppa, Sigala and Sigma and we were blown away by the response. Within the first 3 hours of releasing the mix we were already at number 16 in the worldwide iTunes charts surrounded by the likes of Oliver Heldens, Hardwell and Annie Mac to name a few.
As the days passed we kept on climbing, 13 to 10 to 7 to finally sit comfortable for a good few days at number 5 alongside Tiesto.
